How about discussing or sharing about safe maternal health care especially for disabled pregnant mothers? How are they treated or handled in your private or public hospitals? Is there justice for them, according to your observations?
I remember when I was received in the casualty, I was informed that I thought that I could deliver normally, as they said that my disability is mild. My son almost died due to negligence, but God was & is still caring. After realising that I almost turned blue, they rushed me to theatre and the baby was removed. All this time I was in hell, but I thank God that we both survived. There was a friend (a wheelchair user) who passed on with her unborn baby due to being mishandled by a doctor who said that she could wait for more days as a time was not due. May God touch our clinical personnels.
This is another critical area. I remember when I was in labour for one of my kids, I went to hospital with my husband. The moment the nurse in charge saw me she exclaimed "who is the devil that did this to you" I really felt for my husband, imagine to them it's like I didn't have a right to expect a baby or engage in sexual life🤔. But I faced her and told her that he I was with my husband and not a devil👿.
Thank God that you survived my sister. But ironically all my children were delivered through caesarean but not because I had any complications however immediately when I showed up for delivery and I was rushed to theatre. They said I couldn't deliver normally 🤷🏻♀.
You were lucky my sister. Do disabled men (fathers) face discrimination when it comes to marriage experience like disabled ladies do? Please share your stories because we need to know how various countries treat us in this area of life.
